Bayon Shield Co., LTD is looking for a motivated Cambodian national to join our growing digital mapping team. We are developing an interactive 360° mapping platform that lets people virtually explore Cambodia's streets, businesses and attractions. Our mission is to boost tourism, digitally preserve cultural and historical heritage, and partner with real estate and development companies, with the long-term goal of mapping points of interest across all 25 provinces.
If you enjoy exploring, meeting people, and working outside, this role mixes independent fieldwork, photography, technology and community outreach. You will be based in Siem Reap, with expeditions to other provinces that include overnight and multi-day trips. Travel accommodation is paid by the company.
What You'll Be Doing
- 360° street and outdoor mapping — walk, ride and drive routes with a backpack- or vehicle-mounted 360° camera to capture streets, markets, parks and public spaces.
- Indoor virtual tours — photograph hotels, restaurants, shops, offices and attractions so visitors can walk through them online.
- Community and general outreach — talk with business owners, monks, pagoda representatives, caretakers and developers; explain what we do and show demos on a tablet.
- Cultural and historical preservation — document pagodas, temples, monuments and historic sites so they are recorded in detail for future generations.
- Route planning and navigation — plan efficient capture routes, track coverage, and keep accurate notes on what has been mapped and what remains.
- Field documentation and coordination — log locations, permissions and contacts; coordinate with the office so imagery is uploaded and processed smoothly.
- Provincial mapping expeditions — join multi-day trips to other provinces, which can include hiking and travel by boat.
What We're Looking For
- Cambodian national, fluent in Khmer with good working English.
- Own reliable transport (motorbike or car).
- Comfortable outdoors in hot weather, in rural areas and in forests; happy to hike, take boats and camp when needed.
- Willing to travel overnight and on multi-day trips to other provinces.
- Able to take long walks independently and to wear a backpack-mounted 360° camera in public.
- Confident with Google Maps, GPS and smartphone or tablet apps.
- Friendly and approachable, and respectful of local traditions and religious customs.
- Reliable, organised and able to work with minimal supervision.
- An interest in technology, photography, geography, culture or tourism is a plus.
- No prior 360° or mapping experience is required. Full training is provided.
Working Hours & Compensation
- $300 USD per month.
- Monday to Friday, flexible hours between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
- Reasonable scheduling accommodation is available; provincial trips are coordinated in advance.
Benefits & Perks
- Paid national holidays.
- NSSF contributions and all benefits required by Cambodian labour law.
- Fuel reimbursement for work travel.
- Company-paid travel and accommodation on expeditions.
- Flexible scheduling.
- Training on 360° cameras, mapping tools and our platform.
- Explore Cambodia as part of the job.
Why Join Bayon Shield
This is not a desk job. One week you might be mapping the streets of Siem Reap, the next documenting a pagoda, building a virtual tour of a hotel, or reaching a remote site in another province. You will play a direct role in making Cambodia more accessible online, supporting tourism and preserving heritage. We are a small, growing company looking for someone enthusiastic, independent and adventurous.
